The weekend has been pretty chill. Worked a bunch, checked out the Red Bull Soap Box thing and hung out with Michaela. Went and rode with Andy and Riely for a bit this morning,now I’m grabbing some food at my new favorite spot, Nuba, then I’m heading home to do more work!! Exciting stuff!! here are some random photos.

In 2003 me and my best friends went on a trip to Kauai, Hawaii where we stayed at Josh’s parents house. It was a great trip and I’m super psyched to go back with Michaela, Josh and Shanti in December! I was going through all my old film a few months back and came across these photos. They were taken with my old Minolta X-570, my first camera, and to this day, they are still some of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken. Here are a few scans… They are a bit shitty because I just scanned the prints, but one day, I’ll take the time to scan the negs.

Justin Kosman had been in town for the weekend to shoot some photos for Vans with Osato. I guess Dave had a wedding to go to so Justin ended up wandering around Vancouver for a bit, but on Monday I met up with him for some coffee and tagged along with him and Osato for the day. As we were heading out it started to rain, so we hit up leside. Dave and I hadent been there for years, but there is some quickcreete stuff there now. We had a fun little session, hit some food and by that time it dried up, So we rode Hastings for the rest of the day and ended with a seawall ride. It was fun to get a day just for riding where I didn’t have to shoot or film and it was rad to chill with Justin. It’s fun to hang out with other photographers, see how they work and pick their brain. I’m always trying to learn as much as I can and Justin knows hit shit!!!

This might seem a little trivial, but I was just browsing Hedi Slimane’s (if you don’t know who he is click here) photo blog and came across a few photos of some BMX kid who happened to be rocking some MacNeil stuff! It was pretty weird to see at first and it’s also funny to see the kids DC tattoo a few photos down. I’m just trying to collect my thoughs on how I feel about this, if I should be psyched or just not really care and also about how many people, when you think about it, can effect the compostion of a photo… Like the person who designed the t-shrit… That graphic is very dominant in the photo and even though many different events had to occur for this shirt to be in the photo, the designer of it had a small effect…
