After a bit of hunting and putting my name down at a few different camera stores, Glazer’s in Seattle called me up on Tuesday to say they got a Panasonic GF1 with a f/1.7 20mm lens in stock and could send it up to Vancouver! $20 for shipping and one day later, I was the proud owner of a new GF1. I’ve only shot a few photos in my office last night and some on the way to lunch today, but I’m really happy with the camera and can’t wait to use it more.

Visiting Michaela’s family in Slovika was interesting. They couldn’t speak English and I can’t speak a word of Slovakian, so with out Michaela or her mom around, not much conversing went on. One thing her family could clearly see with out speaking to me is that I’m very much into photography and cameras. While I was there Michaela’s aunt and uncle each gave me one camera, both old film camera. I was extremely excited and very thankful and for anyone who’s been to my house, they know I like old cameras! The photos below were shot one of the two cameras, a Praktica Super TL 35mm.

Andrew and I headed down to LA before Interbike in Vegas last month. We only had three days, but we made them count. We hit the beach, rode bikes, did some shopping and hung out with friends. LA is always a blast and I really need to go there more! I was on a “once a month” schedule last year and I loved it! Hopefully I’ll be back soon. Andrew Nuno, and I compiled our favorite photos from the weekend and put together a Photogallery on Defgrip. You can check that right here.

I did a lot of traveling over the past two weeks. It started out with three days in LA to work on Defgrip features, then four days in Vegas for Interbike. Flew to Seattle from Vegas and got in at like 11pm, then I had to drive to Vancouver, re-pack and catch a 9am flight to Vienna the next morning. I went out there to meet up with Michaela and visit her family in Bratislava, Slovakia. The trip was amazing (but quick) and I can’t wait to go back. Michaela had been there for a week, but I spent four days in Bratislava and one day in Vienna. I shot A LOT of photos, but here’s a few that I edited while I was on the trip. The first shot is Vienna and the rest are Bratislava.
